I don't see Tale of Two Wastelands in your load order. r3n4n wrote: Please have a seat over here. Made my day noobscheat wrote: I was lolz for days. Korodic wrote: If any other mod touched the children in the same way this mod does (incompatibility), then you'll experience a crash. I am sure this mod is the culprit, because I tried enabling/disabling everything else I have, and no problems there. When I enable it anywhere in load order, the game crashes upon startup. It's easy to condemn Fallout fans as nostalgic or plain bitter, but the truth is most merely have really high standards, standards which Bethesda, in their infinite ineptitude can never hope to approach.Cacak wrote: Doesnt work for my NV game. If you visit the codex, arguably the highest concentration of rabit Fallout fanboys on the net you'll find an even harsher enviorment, and some are even critical of Fallout itself. Torment is the only RPG who stands up to Fallout, but combat sucked so it was an imperfect experience.Īll those are considered classic, so as you can see no rose colored lenses from this side of the fence. Then you have the Baldur's Gate series, which was decent but nothing more, and NWN, which sucked beyond redemption. Please, let's not play the 'nostalgia' card.įallout was great, and most can agree with that, but Fallout 2 wasn't all that in comparison.Īrcanum was a good RPG but also rather bugged, poorly balanced and with terrible gameplay. I often get the impression that even if Black Isle Studios rose from the dead and made Fallout 3 themselves, you'd still have fans of the series complaining that it wasn't as good as the originals. So is that poster the only thing on Fallout 3 at e3 this year? I still have a slight hope for a good game but I am looking at it as a fallout spin off rather then a fallout 3 though. I won't say the game is doomed, however I don't have the best of expectations. however I sincerely doubt they can even attempt to recreate the style/flavor that made Fallout such a fantastic game.

I have nothing against Bethesda, they are great developers. Trokia had even been working on an up-and-running Fallout 3 prototype before Bethesda swooped in and snatched the IP. Not only did Trokia consist of people who actually worked on Fallout, but it would also have saved a great gaming company from being forced to close it's doors (i'm still pissed at Activision for this, but that's another story). In my opinion the only people who should have recieved the Fallout IP were Trokia. Fallout 1/2 had a very unique style (story, art and gameplay), very subtle (if not macabre) humor, and a personal touch from everyone who worked on them.
